Piazza Armerina and Taormina

The Imperial Villa was covered by a landslide 700 years ago.
It was uncovered in 1950. The Villa had over 50 rooms covered in
Roman-African mosaics.
This is the Corridor of the Great Hunt. It has chariots, lions, cheetahs and colorful mosaics.

The Ancients: Selinunte settled 628 BC and Agrigento's Valley of the Temples 580 BC.

Temple E: thought to be dedicated to Hera (Juno)
Selinunte was the most westerly Hellenic colony.
Selinunte sacked by Carthage in 409 BC. The city never recovered. Destroyed by an earthquake in 250BC.
Agrigento's Temple of Concord is one of the best preserved Greek temples.
