Siracusa

Siracusa founded 733 BC. Teatro Greco dates back to 474BC.

This masterpiece seats 15,ooo. The seats were cut from the rock below.
The Ear of Dionysius. This area was once a quarry. Now is bursting with olive and citrus groves. Magnolia trees also.
The entrance named for it's shape- an upside down earlobe. Dionysius was the ruler who rose Siracusa to a supreme Mediterranean power.
