Messina known as the "Gateway to Sicily". The port's protectress is the Madonnina, the tall statue built on the ancient harbor walls.
In the distance you see the Cathedral. Located at the Piazza del Duomo. Originally built in the second half of the 12th century by Norman king Roger II.

"Monte e Mare"... sea and mountains the official slogan of Messina.



Over the Straits of Messina you see the Reggio Di Calabria-Italian mainland.
